Brenda Faye "Aunt BooBoo" Dubberly Lyons, 54, of Athens, died Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2009, at Woods Memorial Hospital.
A native of Glennville, Ga., a former resident of Fort Pierce, Fla., and a resident of Athens for the past 16 years, she was of the Pentecostal faith. She was preceded in death by one sister, Nancy Eason.
Survivors include her husband of 16 years, William Joseph "B.J." Lyons of Athens; one daughter, Brandy Hawthorne of Tampa, Fla.; her parents, James and Minnie Stanfield Dubberly of White Pine; two grandchildren, Madalynn Webb and Julia Webb; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Judy and Jack Wilson of Jack, Ala., and Tara Wallin of Kodak; four brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Gloria Dubberly of Plant City, Fla., Jerry and Linda Dubberly of Okeechobee, Fla., Michael and Mary Dubberly of White Pine, and Dale and Pat Dubberly of Orangeburg, S.C.; and several special nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Herbert Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
