Randall Mynette "Randy" McKeehan, 58, of Athens, died Sunday, Aug. 22, 2010, at his residence.

A native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, he was preceded in death by his father, Chester McKeehan; his first wife, Judith Russell McKeehan; and an infant sister. He was an employee of the McMinn County Highway Department and was a master logger. He was a member and trustee at Rogers Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Joni Newman McKeehan of Athens; his mother, Nellie Sue Rodgers McKeehan of Athens; two sons, Randall "Marcus" McKeehan and Johnathan McKeehan, both of Athens; one daughter and son-in-law, Kristy and Michael Landreth of Lexington, Ky.; one stepson, Luke Brooks of Lake Charles, La.; one stepdaughter, Jade Brooks of Athens; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Timothy and Cindy McKeehan of Winder, Ga., and Roger Dale McKeehan of Athens; two brothers-in-law and their spouses, Taylor and Crystal Newman of Ooltewah, and Todd and Jackie Newman of Athens; one sister, Deloris McDaniel of Columbia, S.C.; four sisters-in-law and their spouses, Christi and Lawton "Skip" Nickle of Bowling Green, Ky., Terri and Louis Lafoe of Calhoun, and Adelle and Wayne Baugh and Susan Nugent, all of Jackson, Ala.; two grandchildren, Drew Landreth and Sara Landreth; three step-grandchildren, Morgan, Miame and Daniel; his father-in-law and his wife, S.D. and Pam Newman of Calhoun; his mother-in-law and her husband, Joan and Lawrence James of Jackson, Ala.; several nieces and nephews; and special friends who remained devoted until the end, Rick and Ann Hudson, Jimmy and Kathy Fitzgerald, Ted Johnson and Junior and Fran Hill.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Rogers Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Mark Cameron and the Rev. Jimmy Lewis officiating. The body will lie in-state from 2 to 3 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial will follow in Idlewild Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Bobby Mason, Rick Hudson, Teddie McDaniel, Todd Newman, Joe McDaniel, Phillip Shephard and Travis Ryans.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
