Elizabeth Ann Chastain Roy, 86, of Athens, died Tuesday, July 13, 2010, at Athens Regional Medical Center.
A native of White County, she was a former resident of Knoxville, and a resident of McMinn County since 1984. She was a daughter of the late Richmond King and Gertrude Webb Chastain, and was preceded in death by one brother, Martin King Chastain; one sister, Evelyn Chastain; and one nephew, Jeffery Chastain. She retired from S&W Cafeteria with more than 30 years of service, and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Harry and Sharon Ann Roy of Athens; one sister-in-law, Genia Chastain Qualls of Athens; one grandson and his wife, Keith and Barbara Roy of Oak Harbor, Wash.; three great-grandchildren, Casey, William and Marcus Roy; and four nieces, Alison Barnett and Anne Letner, both of Englewood, Phyllis Pearson of Maryville, and Dotty Chastain of Englewood.
Funeral services will be 8 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Vest officiating. Burial will be 2 p.m. Sunday in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Travis Barnett, Calvin Letner, Evan Chastain, Jared Chastain, William Barnett and Travis Swafford.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
