Dixie Sarah Gant Lamb, age 91 of Athens, Tenn. passed away Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at NHC Healthcare of Athens, Tenn.

A native of Davidson County, and resident of McMinn County since 1945,  she was a daughter of the late Charles and Elizabeth Bell Gant and was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years Dr. Hugh L."Doc" Lamb on March 4, 2004.

A member of Keith Memorial United Methodist Church and the Home Service Sunday School Class, she was a member for over 50 years of the Athenian Chapter No. 159 O.E.S. and had served as Grand Matron.  She was very active in the American Veterianary Medical and Tennessee Veterinary Medical Association Auxiliaries, where she served as President and was a former member on the board.  She along with her late husband were supportive of the 4-H Programs inMcMinn County, volunteering time to travel with 4-H Students to various competitions.She was a member of the Evening Pilot Club of Athens having served as President and Past Governor.

Survivors: Three Sons and Daughters-in-law:Bob and Georgia Lamb of Ten Mile, Tenn.  Jim and Bettye Lamb of Bartlett, Tenn.  Bill and Kathy Lamb of Kennewick, Washington2 Brothers and Sisters-in-law:Charles and Margo Gant of Santa Ana, CaliforniaAlfred and Jeanne Gant of Freemont California.  Five Grandchildren: Lynde Lamb Mickey and husband Joseph, Ehrick A. Lamb, Kathryn D. Lamb, Jordan A. Lamb and J. Patrick Lamb6 Great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be 1:00 PM Sat. at McMinn Memory Gardens with Rev. Dennie Humphries officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 Friday at the funeral home.
