Billy Edward Peak, 76, of Sweetwater, died Wednesday, June 2, 2010, at his home.
A native of Meigs County, and a resident of Sweetwater for the past 50 years, he was a son of the late William "Will" and Connas Bryant Peak, He was preceded in death by two infant daughters, Billie Ann Peak and Rowanna Peak; one sister, Shirley Robinson; one brother, Robert "Bob" Peak; and his stepfather, Charlie Bryant. He was a member of Hickory Flatt Missionary Baptist Church. A construction worker, he worked for Tennessee Military Institute in Sweetwater.
Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Karen Peak of Sweetwater; three daughters and sons-in-law, Francina and Troy Woodruff of Sweetwater, Arzeta "Red" Peak of Knoxville, and Felecia "Alan" Hayes of Dallas, Texas; three sons and one daughter-in-law, Gregory Scott Peak of Sweetwater, Dwight and Brenda Davis of Tampa, Fla., and Robert White of Harriman; one brother, Charlie L. Bryant of Cleveland; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Clara Swafford of Cleveland, Sara Jo Peak of Knoxville, Beatrice and Charles Swafford of Cleveland, and Lonnie Latham of Athens; a special aunt, Minnie Gladson of Knoxville; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Leroy Bowerman and the Rev. Timothy Bryant officiating. Burial will follow in Hickory Flatt Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
