Mrs. Gayle Jones, age 61, of Athens, passesd away Thursday, May 27, 2010 at Athens Regional Medical Center.

A native of Red Bay, Alabama, former resident of Hixson, and resident of Athens for the past 31 Years, she was the daughter of the late John Robert and Joyce Self Daniel. 

She was the former owner of the Village Book Shoppe in Belk Plaza.  A member of the Luncheon Pilot Club of Athens, she was very active, having served as chairman of the Projects Committee for several years and on the Board of Directors.

Survivors: husband of 40 years, Marvin Kenneth "Ken" Jones of Athens.  Brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bob and Linda Jones of Alabaster, Alabama. One niece and one nephew.

Funeral services will be 8:00 P.M. Friday in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with Pastor Tazz Reid officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M. Friday, May 28, 2010 at Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home prior to the service.

Graveside Services will be 4:00 P.M. C.S.T. Saturday, May 29, 2010 at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Red Bay, Alabama.
