Robert Victor Ritz, 64, of Athens, died Saturday, May 1, 2010, at his residence.

A native of Pensacola, Fla., he was a son of the late Robert Vincent and Bertha O. Boback Vincent. He was a former resident of Illinois, and a former employee of Motorola and a D.J. all over the state of Illinois. He was an avid bowler and was a former Boy Scout leader.

Survivors include his wife, Jo Ellen Ruddel Ritz of Athens; two brothers, Charles "Chuck" Ritz and Billy Fistler of Florida; six sisters, Shirley Knoch of Inman, S.C., Nancy Ritz of North Adams, Mich., Gail Ritz of South Carolina, Laurie Charland of Smyrna, Susy Minor of Gaffney, S.C., and Tammie Hunt; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark Hensley officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Cemetery in Haines City, Fla.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home
