EDWARD LEROY "ROY" MELTON, age 88 of Athens, Tenn. died Monday, Januray 15, 2010, in Athens Regional Medical Center.
He was a native and resident most of his life of Athens, Tenn. and a son of the late Horace F. and Nancy Gossett Melton. Preceded indeath by Daughter Sonja Jo Melton, Two Brothers: Chester Melton, William A. Melton, Six Sisters: Ruby Olsen, Edith Bright, Flora Shoemaker, Delia Henry, Pearl Smith, and Daisy Randall.
He was Architectural Designer with Architectural Design Co. and a veteran of World War II having served in the U. S. Army/Air Force.
He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and American Legion Post #68.
Survivors: Wife of 62 years Jo Frances Arrowood Melton, Two Sons and Daughter-in-law: Donald A. and Liz Melton of Athens, Tenn. Ronald L. Melton of Niota, Tenn. Two Grandchildren: Veronica and Jennifer, several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be 2:00 P. M. Thursday in McMinn Memory Gardens with Rev. Bob Thomas officiating. Active pallbearers will be Deacons of the church.
