ALEESE CREWS, age 89, of Athens, TN died Wednesday December 9, 2009 at Athens Regional Medical Center.

A native of Moore County TN, and a resident of McMinn County most of her life, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Lucille Ward Thomas,and was preceded in death by her husband Wendell W. Crews on August 30, 1998, 3 Brothers and 2 Sisters.

A resident of Wellington Place Assisted Living, she was a member of First Baptist Church of Athens. She taught in the McMinn County Schools for 19 years and participated in Meals on Wheels.

Survivors include; Son and daughter-in-law; David and Freda Crews of Athens, TN.  Daughters and sons-in-law; Marilyn and Ron Reeves Hendersonville, TN.  Linda and Harry Clift Bluff City,TN.  Sister-in-law; Betty T. Cook of Shelbyville, TN.  Eight grandchildren and spouses; Robin Green, Amy and Eric Denley, Chris Reeves, Jeremy and Debbie Crews, Tiffany Crews, Heather and Sean Allen, Jarrod Clift, Hopelyn Clift. Eight Great-grandchildren; Nicholas Green, Abi Green, Eliza Denley, MollyLouise Denley, Hunter Allen, Hayden Allen, Kelyn Allen and Cassidy Allen.

Funeral service will be 11:00am Saturday in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with Dr. Jason Clark officiating.

Interment will be at Cedar Grove Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Friday. Pallbearers will be the grandsons.
