Rebecca Ann Wilson Spears, 62, of Athens, died Sunday, May 6, 2012, at her home.

A native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, she was a member of East Athens Baptist Church and the Gleaners Sunday School Class. She was a former employee of RJK Manufacturing Company and had served as a substitute teacher at Four Star Academy.

She was preceded in death by her father, William Roy Wilson; one brother, William "Bill" Clinton Wilson; and her father-in-law, Walter Scott Spears.

Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Brian Spears; her mother, Leona Benton Wilson; one daughter and son-in-law, Pamela Michelle and Clyde Mobley Jr.; one son and daughter-in-law, Lynn Alan "Stump" and Amy Spears; one sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and Steve Sherlin; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Jerry and Earla Wilson, Kenney and Judy Wilson and Don Wilson; four grandchildren, Monica Mobley, Ryan Mobley, Ashlynn Spears and Hunter Spears, all of Athens; one sister-in-law, Elizabeth "Libby" Wilson of Ten Mile; her mother-in-law, Betty Spears of Paris; one sister-in-law and her husband, Cathy and Donny Brown of Athens; two brothers-in-law and one spouse, Alan and Dottie Spears of Sparta, and Robert Spears of Paris; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 8 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with Dr. Glenn Gregg and the Rev. Bob Thomas officiating. Burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Cedar Grove Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Scott Fox, Scott Wilson, Eddie Fox, Andy Sherlin, Buzz Montgomery, Bobby Jarvis, Jeff Wilson, Don Brown and Lincoln Wilson.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
