Orelle Lucille Harriger Hise, age 92, of Fryburg, formerly of Punxsutawney (Coolspring area), Pennsylvania, died on April 14, 2012 at Athens Regional Medical Center in Athens, Tennessee.
She was taken ill in December while visiting with her sister in Decatur.
Born on the family farm on July 14, 1919, Lucille was the daughter of the late Arthur E. and Barbara Susanna Elizabeth (Frederick) Harriger. On February 25, 1944 in Wellsburg, West Virginia, she married Charles Raymond Hise of Canton, Ohio. Following his death in 1949, she returned to the family farm and remained there until 2007 when she moved to Fryburg to be near her daughter.
Lucille was retired from the USDA ASC Office and from Hanley and Byrd Gas Company in Brookville, working in clerical positions. She was a graduate of the Pittsburg School of Cosmetology. She also attended Canton School of Business and DuBois Business College. Her hobby was knitting and loved Dachshunds.
She is survived by her only child, Victoria (Vickie) Lee and her husband, Paul Harvey Pinkerton of Fryburg, PA and grandson Paul David Pinkerton of Cascade, Maryland and grand-daughter Cheryl Dianne Pinkerton Hendrickson of Green Cove Springs, Florida. She is also survived by great-grand-daughters, Kayla Nikol and Jordyn Leeanne Hendrickson of Green Cove Springs, Florida. Also surviving is a sister Mary Louise Yeakel of Decatur, Tennessee and sister-in-law Wilma (Whitney) Harriger of Albuquerque, New Mexico and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Max Frederick Harriger and sister and brother-in-law, Blanche Arlene and Herbert B. Neff, and a brother-in-law, Willard D. Yeakel; and in-laws Harold and Ethel (Greenamayer) Hise, David and Mary Justice, Kenneth and Ethel Wolgamuth, George and Margaret Filliez, Jesse and Mae (Wagoner) Hise and Robert and Elsie Alberta Buchtel.
At her request, there will be no visitation or service. Interment of cremains will be at the Coolsprings Cemetery in Coolsprings, PA.
